Quarantine
This is day 11 of the mandatory island-wide quarantine/curfew here in Puerto Rico. So far, I have been working on various personal projects, resting, getting my immune system up, and also exercising; because I have a weight loss goal to reach by the end of this year. I have been keeping myself busy doing anything and everything I possibly can to stay positive.
I am a professional photographer, without social events and interacting with people, my photography business is nonexistent. So for now, until further notice, I am technically unemployed. However, I also studied graphic design and I am taking some time off photography to pursue my design career once again. I have been working on several marketing projects for various startups, and for my photography business. I'm happy I have something I can fall back on. Something that I can do from the comfort of my home as I used to when I was a freelance art director for several clients and agencies.
During this time though, I made time for painting. Specifically with gouache. It is one of my monthly goals to learn more about painting with gouache. For the next several days, I will be exploring the world of gouache and doing my best to keep myself busy while making enough money to cover bills.
Here are the projects I will be working on while practicing my watercolor and gouache techniques:
- draw all my shoes
- draw Yenyen for more postcards fun
- draw scenes around my house + gardens
- draw fruits and veggies in my kitchen
- draw before and after of decluttering rooms
- draw office space (future office/studio space)
You can see the process on my Instagram. I will also be adding a few of these to my online store. Thank you for reading and for your support!
